Went to watch Street Fighter last weekend with JK. A total waste of our time, luckily not money because he had a pair of free tickets. Plot was simply too surfaced, many details were not included and half of the time you are left wondering what exactly happened.
And I assure you that is not due to my retardation.
Getting a pseudo-Asian is pretty unconvincing as an Asian as well. I think anyone would be able to spot the overt discrepancy between her fluency in mandarin when Chun-Li was a kid and when she was all grown-up. It amuses me to see how a small-eyed, yellow-skinned, black-haired girl grew up to become a large-eyed, freckled face, white-skinned and brown haired girl.
Explanations to the proceedings of things were lacking. Chun-Li seems to digest her father's death pretty easily, amusing herself over the un-death of her kungfu Master when just a while ago she witnessed the baddie breaking her daddy's neck and killing him infront of her. Don't really understand how the baddie's supposingly strongest weapon (this guy who wears a silver mask) is easily defeated by our protangonist, who merely had a few kungfu lessons with her Master. Don't really understand why she was willing to bet her life on a random scroll received and the words of a Chinese auntie from a random shop in some streets of Hong Kong.
I hope that was not a side effect of doing my thesis -.-"

Beauty = Health?I find it particularly interesting that when the class was told to evaluate an advertisement selling a product / service which claims certain
health benefits, many chose weight loss, skin care and breast enhancement advertisements.
Sounds perfectly fine to evaluate some of the scientific jargons in these ads, and arguing that they are dubious. But the thing here is, by selecting such beauty ads to evaluate, we are drawing an equivalence between beauty and health. So you will be healthier if you lose weight. You will be healthier if you do not have pimples or wrinkles. You will be healthier if you have bigger breasts.
See how deep societal influences have gotten to us.
